I need your help
I need your help to promote transparency and trust in Somers Point city government. I've spent decades analyzing systems and managing projects for companies ranging from startups to the fortune-500. As the price of goods, services and real-estate skyrocket, it's essential to ensure we have the best eyes on – and require sound reasoning for – every additional expense behind the drive to raise taxes.
I have years of experience that are directly applicable to small-city government:
Devising and evaluating cost estimates
Developing business cases to justify costs
Tracking project cost and ensuring budgets are met
Communicating to stakeholders in a manner that is clear, concise and respectful
I look forward to bringing those same skills to bear on Somers Point City Council!
Who am I?
I live in Somers Point with my wife Linda and our aussiedoodle, Doyle.
We relocated to Somers Point seven years ago from Merchantville. We raised our four kids in Mt. Holly and Audubon, and are proud grandparents of five granddaughters.
How Did I Get Here?
Our arrival in Somers Point was forecast over 60 years ago, when my father helped an uncle build his vacation home in Somers Point – a one-story cinder-block cottage on 4th Street that still stands today! Ever after, I and my four sisters, mom and dad were treated to a week at the shore – driving the old endless slab roadways crossing South Jersey, holding our breath across the death-defying Beasley Point Causeway, and salivating on the way home as we passed the Tuckahoe Inn!
What Have I Been Doing?
I served 4 years in the Air Force, then rose through consecutively more responsible civilian technical roles on DoD-related projects while working nights to complete a degree at Rutgers-Camden. While taking classes for an advanced degree at Temple, I struck out on my own as a consulting technical writer, then as consulting database programmer for SmithKline Beecham and Merck, and for the 15 years prior to retirement served first as director of systems analysis and then senior project manager in the healthcare data space.
